Cecil Glenn Fuchs

Cecil Glenn Fuchs was born Nov. 14 1927 in Redwood Falls, Redwood Co.,Minnesota and moves to Laurens area when he was 7 years old. He graduated from Laurens high school in 1945. He joined the navy and served most of his enlistment in the Philippine Islands. On Dec. 19, 1948 Cecil married Leona Richardson the daughter of Roy and Amy Richardson in the United Methodist church Laurens,Pocahontas Co.,Iowa. Leona graduated from Laurens High School in 1944 and went to college at A.I.B. in Des Moines,Iowa. Leona worked in Des Moines until Nov.of 1946, retuning to Laurens to work for a local Lawyer, F.C. Gilchrist Jr. She left the firm in 1949 to become a full time farm wife.

In Feb. of 1953 they moved to the Will Fuchs farm north of Laurens in Southern Palo Alto Co.,Iowa. They lived there until Cecil death on Nov.14,1978 Cecil is buried in the Laurens, Iowa Cemetery. Leona continued to live at the farm alone until Oct. 1979 and then she moved into the town of Laurens. Their Family consists of two adopted children one son and a daughter. Their Son graduated from Laurens high school and attended South Dakota University at Brooking,South Dakota, for one year then returned home to help his father with the farming and later started farming for himself and does some trucking for Ron Reed He married Becky Kassel of Ayrshire, Iowa they have two son. The rest is left out for family Privacy.


Their daughter graduated from Albert City high school in Albert City,Iowa. She married Charles Brazel of Truesdale,Iowa They lived for a short time in Albert City and moved to the country near Marathon,Iowa.her husband works as a electrician. They have three sons. The names left Private for the family.
In addition to Cecil's activities on the farm and with his family, he enjoyed his membership with the Methodist church,VFW,Masonic Lodge, and served several years on the board of directors of the farmers Cooperative Elevator.
Leona's hobbies are sewing, bridge, traveling and Golf.
Leora also belong to the United Methodist church in Laurens,Iowa and has been a Sunday school secretary for over 20 years.
